Here at Home (and Kayaking)

Well, here I am, at home, finally... After years of thinking that working for the man was what it's all about, I've come to the realization that there truly IS more to life. Everyone has been asking me what my plan is, and at this point I don't have a real solid one. I'm going to spend time in service and with Catherine, working the land, doing some painting (on the walls and on canvas), and if there is time I have some other miscellaneous home improvement projects I'd like to get to. I'll also be working some from home. That's pretty much my plan. If any of you other stay/work at home moms have some words of wisdom, please send them my way!

I actually got to go kayaking on Monday. My uncle, Dennis gave me a beautiful green touring kayak when we went to visit in March and I've been dying to take it out. Although it was Harpeth River, it was at least water; I just made sure to paddle quickly past the clusters of drunk rednecks overflowing from rented john boats and canoes. Aside from the fact that Monday was a holiday and I was not the only one with the idea, it was a great day for it. Ernie and Catherine got to enjoy some father/daughter bonding waiting for me at the pick up point (more drunk rednecks made for less than perfect fishing conditions). I'd like to float the Duck River sometime soon... I've heard there are good opportunities to observe wildlife (other than the red necked homo sapiens variety).

Class of '06!

O.K. I know I said I would quit flip-flopping on my blogs, but I did it again. So, if anyone's interested that hasn't been to my dreaded myspace page, I did post a blog about graduation there. Here's the link www.myspace.com/toriayres. And if you don't feel like looking there, here's the abridged version:

WOO HOO!!! I GRADUATED!

Life in Perspective

Bunny suicide, urban legand or harsh reality?

I keep Return of the Bunny Suidcides in my office so that I may keep a better perspective on my life. At least it is not as bad as that of a bunny; for what horrible things bunnies must go through to come up with such terrible ways to off themselves.
So, whenever you are feeling down, look to the bunny, for whatever you are going through, it is not as bad as what our cotton tail friends have to put up with.

Welcome to SMASHVILLE!

WOW! I love hockey season! I'm so glad the Preds are back on the ice... UNDEFEATED I might add. I'm excited about having Kariya on the team, but David Legwand - Number 11 - is still my boy! I've been to 2 games so far, and hope to go to many more this year. I need to study up on the new rules, well, all the rules, really.

I think it's going to be a great season for the Preds, as long as Ernie keeps his Saints curse out of Nashville!

GO PREDS!!!

Pimp My Ride

Ahsley's blog and last night's episode of "Pimp My Ride" (click on episode 216 to see pics) inspired this. I just don't understand how these total losers get to have their rides pimped, and I still have to drive around in my same old boring blue truckster. Not that I'm ingrateful, at least I have a ride... And, no, I don't have a leaky sunroof. Actually I don't have any sunroof, but I want one. I bet the fine folks at "Pimp My Ride" could install a killa sunroof. I think the trucksta could be a pretty sweet ride if it were pimped.
